Cooking in K-Land – Winter

This is the last edition of cooking in K-Land as our time here is coming to a close. Over the last couple of months we haven’t been trying out too many new recipes; opting for only a couple of experiments and focusing on emptying our cupboards instead.

I can honestly say that in the ten, almost eleven months we’ve been here we’ve noticed a significant improvement in the number of Western grocery items available which means cooking has become a lot easier and hence I’ve dabbled with a few more desserts this past month. Here’s what we’ve been eating this season.

Sweet & Sour Chicken
Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breast
Kumera Soup
Chicken Pie
Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding
Trifle
Oreo Style Truffles

Cooking in K Land – Autumn

Only one month until Winter and the weather is definitely cooling off. We’ve swapped our salads for roast veggies and we’re looking forward to soups, casseroles and maybe the odd apple crumble. Here’s what we’ve been eating this season.

Chocolate brownies —>> recipe

Roast chicken, Veggies and Cauliflower cheese

Oatmeal and brown sugar (thanks M&D)

You can find all these recipes at Walkabout Kitchen.

Walkabout Kitchen

It’s been almost nine months since we set foot in South Korea and we’ve overcome many obstacles, one of the biggest being cooking and food. After having so much choice in NZ, its taken a while to get used to basic ingredients and figure out our staple meals.

I’ve really started to get interested in cooking simple, tasty, healthy meals and decided to start a new blog – http://walkaboutkitchen.blogspot.com/

Initially it will be aimed at helping other expats cook there favorite things in South Korea. After that, who knows, you might find something you can cook up as well.

Enjoy!
